This week has been a busy one for cakes, and this fish cake we did has to be one of our favourite cakes that we’ve ever made.
A while ago, Keith suggested that we make the cake for his nieces 6th birthday party. Once we found out that the theme was going to be “Tangled”, we started planning out different ideas and finally decided on the very popular Tangled Tower. It started off as a small cake….but we quickly realized that we were planning a 2- ft tower and transporting this thing seemed more and more terrifying! Thankfully everything went smoothly and Hailey loved her Tangled cake.

This light and sweet angel food cake is delicious with berries and ice cream, or all by itself. We have made it many times, and it always disappears fast! Continue reading
Sometimes it is nice to step away from the decorating and go back to a classic cake. Pineapple upside down cake is one of those cakes. It is easy to make, inexpensive and delicious. We modified ours slightly to make an extra moist and pineappley cake.
As I’ve mentioned, I absolutely love decorating! When I found out that Keith’s Brother & Sister-in-law were going to have a baby girl, I immediately started planning out all the girly cakes, cookies or cupcakes I could make. I decided I was going to use as much pink as I could, starting with the batter.
