Meet our new boss!
He is super cute but very demanding. He isn’t shy about letting us know when we are not doing things to his standards. Most of our time is now spent keeping him happy, healthy and entertained. Owen has brought so much joy into our lives and we couldn’t be happier. He is a very happy and easy going baby.
We have taken some time away from the site to adjust to our new roles as parents and just enjoy all the amazing moments that come with having a baby, so the food blog posts may not be as frequent.
We are still taking orders for cakes, cupcakes and cookies for 2015, and you can check the gallery or follow us on Instagram to see our most recent creations.
I’m not sure if I like quiche better for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Quiche is great because you can throw in whatever you have in the fridge! This combination is one of our favourites, but feel free to use what you love….no meat, extra cheese, extra veggies….go nuts!
Quick and easy appetizers that your guests will love! We wanted to make appetizers, and had been looking for something to make with the brie we had bought. Instead of simply topping the brie, we decided to stuff it into puff pastry with the topping. They were so simple to make that you may want to double this recipe….these went fast!!!
Oh boy have we been busy! Keith proposed at the end of October, and we have been pretty distracted ever since! The holidays can be hectic, throw in wedding planning, and well… we apologize. But we have been busy in the kitchen and have some delicious recipes to share! Like this chocolate lava cake! It is a good thing that this recipe only makes 2 servings or my waistline would be in trouble. Deliciously gooey chocolate inside a rich chocolate cake with a hint of orange….Yum!! It’s sure to satisfy any chocolate craving!
Need a really quick and easy dessert? How about a flan?! It’s rich, creamy and delicious! We decided to use coconut milk instead of evaporated milk, and it turned out really nice. And if you need to use up the left over egg whites, why not try our Angel Food Cake recipe! Continue reading
Enjoy a beer with dinner? How about a beer in your dinner? We made our version of a traditional English “steak and ale pie”, and it turned out really nice! It is a great, filling meal to make during these colder months. Continue reading
Left over risotto? Looking for something different to make for dinner? Try arancini!! It’s easy to make, and you can make it your own by switching up the ingredients you put in the middle. Try mozzarella or your favourite veggies. Yum! Continue reading
Some of our favourite cupcake flavours this summer have been the lighter, fruity flavours. There are some really awesome fruit flavour combinations out there, here are some of the ones we tried.

1. Lemon cupcake with raspberry buttercream, topped with raspberry sauce, a fresh raspberry and a candied lemon slice.
2. Orange cupcake with vanilla-orange buttercream topped with a candied orange slice (not pictured)
3. Vanilla cupcake with fresh strawberry buttercream, topped with a fresh strawberry.
4. Peach cupcake with vanilla-peach buttercream, topped with a caramelized peach slice.
Summer? Fruit? Wine?….Yes please! There are so many variations to Sangria, each one equally delicious i’m sure. We use this general guideline when we make sangria, but there are so many different combinations you can use. Use your favourite wine and fruit and make your own version of sangria, or give ours a try! Continue reading
